Cranberry Hardwoods traces its roots to a rich history of
forest stewardship. Long before the company entered the industry as
a lumber producer, its predecessor affiliates actively managed some
of the best timberlands in the world. Professional silvicultural stewardship
of this timber resource dates back to the early days of the twentieth
century and includes one of the first certified tree farms in central
Appalachia. This rich tradition of forest stewardship continues today
as a cornerstone of our commitment to quality.
Cranberry Hardwoods began lumber production operations in
1991 producing a modest three million board feet of hardwood lumber
its first year. The company continued to invest in its business and
has grown into one of North America’s largest producers of hardwood
lumber with annual production capacity exceeding seventy million board
feet.
The company operates modern mills, lumber and log yards, dry kilns
and secondary manufacturing facilities at strategic locations throughout
the Appalachians shipping a wide range of high quality products to
its customers around the world. The company takes pride pushing “green
initiatives” by fully utilizing the entire forest resource generating
no waste as bark is converted to landscaping mulch or fuel, sawdust
is converted to boiler fuel and chips are sold and utilized for paper
manufacturing.
We appreciate your interest in Cranberry Hardwoods and look
forward to the opportunity to exceed your expectations whenever your
business application requires quality hardwoods products.
